Madam Josephine George Francis
Our Board Chair Madam Josephine George Francis is a seasoned leader with over two decades of extensive experience at the intersection of public service and Agricultural innovation. As the CEO of Arjay Farms Inc., she drives sustainable farming practices, fostering job creation and pioneering initiatives that empowers farmers with cutting-edge techniques. Josephine's visionary leadership as President of the Farmers Union Network-Liberia elevated the advocacy for rural farmers, securing vital resources, and implementing transformative training programs. Her distinguished tenure as Chair of both the Agriculture and Executive Committees in the National Legislature underscored her strategic acumen in spearheading multi-million-dollar agricultural investments and enacting pivotal legislation, including conferring autonomous status upon the Central Agricultural Research Institute. She holds a Masters of Business Administration, Cuttington University, Monrovia, Liberia, 2016. Bachelor of Science majoring in Business Administration, National College, St. Paul, Minnesota, 1992. As Chief Executive Officer of Arjay Farms, Madam Francis spearheaded strategic initiatives leading to a 35% increase in overall farm productivity within 18 months and orchestrated the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, resulting in a marked reduction in environmental impact and a 15% decrease in resource usage.
HON. NATHANIEL T. SAAH, SR
HON. NATHANIEL T. SAAH, SR. has a long history of successful work in the field of agriculture specifically in the Public and Private sectors. He is an agriculture technician with broad knowledge in Cocoa Quality Control.In 2021, he was appointed member of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Development Agency (CDA). As Member of the Board of Directors he along with other members of the Board set policies and regulations for the Agency and look out for capacity building, and financial assistance for the Agency including giving relevant governance advices to appointed officers of the Agency.As Secretary General of the Liberian National Federation of Cooperative Societies, he coordinated the activities of over 405 officially registered Cooperative Societies representing over 80,500 individuals across the country.He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Cuttington University College now Cuttington University in 1984. Also over 30 working Experience with the cocoa and cooperative sector. He was the brain behind theformation of the 13 fishery Artisan cooperatives along the coastal belt of Liberia under the USAD DEN-l and YSADF-EDUCSRE-LIBERIA consultancy, coupled with contributing towards formation and training of about 45% of the existing cooperatives in Liberia.
Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah
Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah is an experienced Agricultural Economist with more than twenty years of professional experience working with the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance and Development Planning of the Republic of Liberia. He has served as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and as a Food Security Consultant with the World Bank office in Liberia.Dr. Nuetah began his professional career as a Planning Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2003. He then moved on to serve as a Senior Economist responsible for macroeconomic analysis and forecasting at the then Ministry of Finance. Later, he served as Assistant Minister for Economic and Financial Sector Policy at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning of the Republic of Liberia. Most recently, he served as a National Consultant for the World Bank to develop Liberia’s Food Security Crisis Preparedness Plan (FSCPP).
